Success for Pearl® Micro 718 powders for a 3D printing aeroengine part

Pearl® Micro Ni718 powders have been used in a prototype of aeroengine turbine seal with integrated honeycomb manufactured by SLM.

Honeycomb structures play a key role in the improvement of turbines’ efficiency by enhancing the turbine clearance between the rotating and stationary parts of aircraft engines. The additive manufacturing process enables both a production in one step and weight reduction.

ln this application, Pearl® Micro Ni718 powders offered the required thermo-mechanical properties.
